An informed customer is an important part of our
countertop process. In order to ensure a pleasant experience,
we would ask that you read and sign this statement as the first step of the process.
CABINETS MUST BE PERMANANTLY INSTALLED AND LEVEL
The countertop must lie flat to eliminate stress on the material,
cutouts and seams. It is your responsibility to ensure that the cabinets are flat, and permanently secured. Our templator will determine if you need to remove
appliance garages or panels to insure a top notch installation. We can not remove items that are an integral part of your casework.
CUSTOMER SUPPLIED FIXTURES
Items to be installed in the countertops
must be on site prior to our templating.
This includes sinks, faucets, soap dispenser,
water dispenser, cook top, etc. If these items are not on hand we will not be able to release your job to production. Changes in
specifications cannot be accepted after the job is released to production.
DURING THE TEMPLATE PROCESS
During template we will confirm all the details of your new countertop project.
You or your decision-maker will need to be present.
All items should be cleared from the countertops and in some cases, existing countertops would need to be removed
before template.
FINAL PRICING
Your initial quote is an estimate of the
price of your countertop project. The final price will be
determined after the template is completed and dimensions or changes are verified.
REMOVAL OF EXISTING COUNTERTOPS
If your quote includes removal of your existing countertops B Shea will
dispose of the old counters. and debris from the process.
Removal of existing backsplash occasionally results in wall damage.
Typically, tear out and installation are done in the same
day. Large or complicated jobs may require more than one day
and will be evaluated at time of template.
INSTALLATION SCHEDULING
We typically schedule the install at the same time we schedule the template but will call during the process to confirm we are hitting our mark and expected time of arrival.
DURING INSTALLATION
Our installers are moving extremely heavy countertops and working with
potentially dangerous tools. You should avoid the work area
and try to provide unobstructed access in and out of the work area.
Existing countertop removal and disconnecting of the sinks and/or
cook tops should be done before the installers arrive, unless
you have contracted with us to do so.
After installation, we will clean the immediate surfaces
and leave the site in “broom clean” condition.
Countertop installation is a construction process and
residual dust should be expected. We make every effort to collect dust throughout the process however, the process is never 100% dust free. To minimize dust impact to other areas you may want to cover surrounding furniture and such.
INCIDENTAL DAMAGE
Final wall finishing like painting or wall papering
should wait un till installation of countertops is complete.
Care will be taken during the process
however, scrapes, punctures or digs to wall surfaces are
possible. These
items are considered incidental damage and are your
responsibility to repair.
PLUMBING
We are not plumbers and are only qualified to disconnect existing plumbing.
Please verify that all shut off valves are in good working order.
Re-plumbing typically requires new stainless steel baskets, p-traps and
supply lines and are not supplied by us. B Shea does not accept any responsibility for water leaks or water damage resulting from the process. Again we are not plumbers.
COOKTOPS AND APPLIANCES
Your appliance installer must install new cook tops and
downdrafts. If contracted to do so we will remove and reinstall your
existing cook top only if they are located in their original positions.
B Shea does not accept liability for floor damage if we are
required to move your refrigerator or stove to accomplish the
installation.
ACCEPTANCE/FINAL PAYMENT
After the countertop installation is complete you or your decision maker
must be present to inspect and sign off on the
final product. This does not release us from future liabilities, but acts
as proof of acceptance.
WARRANTY
B Shea warrants our products and installations for a period of TEN YEARS We feel if you produce an exceptional product it should be backed by an exceptional warranty. Our stone sealer when maintained properly carries the same.
